Figma Prototype
Conclusion & Learnings
This project reinforced that even highly technical enterprise tools benefit immensely from thoughtful UX design. By reducing cognitive load, streamlining task flows, and offering real-time system feedback, we made Clari5 more intuitive for both expert and novice users. Consistency and visual clarity are powerful tools in reducing cognitive load in data-heavy interfaces. Even without in-depth user research, applying UX heuristics and design best practices can drive meaningful outcomes.
Impact
The redesigned interface significantly improved usability for analysts managing fraud scenarios within Clari5:
~30% faster scenario configuration due to simplified workflows and reduced steps.
~20% decrease in time spent managing active scenarios and cases, thanks to better screen hierarchy and contextual actions.
Improved clarity of risk alerts led to quicker interpretation and faster decision-making in high-risk cases.
The modernized UI also enhanced confidence and reduced onboarding friction for new users, supporting Clari5’s international expansion goals.
Design Process
The redesign was guided by heuristic evaluation by reviewing the old screens against usability principles (consistency, feedback, affordances) and speaking informally with a few power users about their pain points. The team prioritized cleaning up navigation and visual hierarchy.
SAT (Scenario Authoring Tool) Module
The redesigned interface delivers a clean, modern experience. It features a streamlined sidebar with top-level categories eliminating buried options. Visual design was updated with a cohesive color palette and clear typography.

Old Design

New Design
Focused on streamlining information-heavy screens for enterprise analysts. Two high-traffic workflows: the Scenario List and Verification pages, were redesigned to reduce visual noise and improve usability without sacrificing data density.
1.) Introduced color-coded status pills (Enabled/Disabled) for quick visual recognition.
2.) Central CTA (“Add New Scenario”) was made prominent and accessible.
3.) Reduced icon clutter and introduced consistent spacing to ease reading across long tables.
4.) Designed for bulk action clarity with checkbox selections and grouped Accept/Reject controls.
5.) Used whitespace and alignment to minimize visual fatigue across 100+ entry lists.

ICMS (Intelligent Case Management System) module
1.) Introduced Quick Insights cards for real-time status overview
2.) Used color-coded tags to improve scan-ability
3.) Sticky headers, consistent padding, and visual hierarchy make bulk review easier.
4.) Clear primary actions like “Assign Case” surfaced on top-right.
5.) Added visual graphs : bar chart for scenario-wise alert distribution, donut chart for status breakdown, helping analysts spot patterns quickly.

The Problem
1.) Clari5’s user interface was outdated and complex. The interface followed older enterprise patterns:dense screens, deeply nested navigation, and rigid layouts.
2.) The visual design was cluttered and rigid, relying on small fonts and static elements, which made it hard to scan or compare information at a glance, common tasks required navigating multiple layers of options, with inconsistent labeling and minimal contextual help.
3.) The old UI hindered efficiency, and required intuitive ad guided workflows for expert users as well as new ones, especially as Clari5 expands internationally.
The User
The primary users are fraud analysts, AML/compliance officers, risk investigators, and related bank staff who configure rules and investigate alerts. These domain experts use Clari5’s SAT to author or tune detection scenarios (e.g. thresholds, patterns), and use ICMS (Investigation dashboards) to resolve flagged transactions.
Project Overview
Clari5 is a unified financial crime management platform for banks. It offers real-time, cross-channel fraud detection and anti-money laundering (AML) monitoring by synthesizing contextual intelligence from across the entire bank. In practice Clari5 connects core banking, cards, online, mobile, ATM and other channels into a central system for fraud control.

Clari5 Fraud Prevention Platform
A platform that enables banks to detect, monitor, and prevent fraudulent activities across digital and transactional channels in real time.
